After months of pining away in the almost-freezing, we got the chance to go down to South By Southwest in Austin, Texas this year! Aside from the beautiful music spilling from every corner of the city, we found Austin (in SXSW mode) to be one of the most stylish places we’ve ever visited. With beautiful weather all week, the options for style were endless. In addition, we were thrilled to see so many people exploring vintage options!

Here’s some of our favorite looks we found out on the street at SXSW this year. Fashionable ladies abound, as usual at an international music festival, but we were also excited to see so many men with individual refined style! Lookin’ good, guys!

Maxi dresses and skirts were a trend everywhere we looked. We especially like how this gal "toughened up" the flowing look with those combat boots!

Burnt-orange shorts and a vintage hawaiian shirt to match the warm southern air. Surprisingly (and awesomely), florals were quite common at SXSW.

Love this supersaturation! Beautiful color blocking and a vintage bag.

We were thrilled to see suspenders making a bit of a comeback too! With a vintage Champion tank and classic "greaser" hairstyle, this was one of our favorite looks.

While not vintage, this hand-knit dress is too unique to not feature!

Miranda, a Petrune alumnae and very stylish person! Sometimes it dosen't have to be more complicated than a white shirt-dress and killer shoes.

This lime-colored maxi-dress caught our eye from accross a crowded room. You might say it was love at first sight? The little pop of contrast from the violet shoes is perfection.

The abstract pattern peeking out from beneath his motorcycle jacket is a lovely touch.

Justin and I just returned from the elegant city of Baltimore, MD, where we found bags and bags of merchandise for Petrune. People often ask us where we find the interesting things in the shop. Here’s one place: The Village Thrift Shop in Baltimore. This place is well organized, and filled with all kinds of things. Last time I was here, I watched as a man purchased a genuine Jean Miro print, signed by the artist, for fifteen dollars. On this trip we found the black and white dress in the photo, along with the 50s handbag, and lots of other nice things that I’ll post later.
