If you’ve ever been upstairs checking out our men’s department, record shop, or pinball machine, you may have already met them. Did you smell the fresh sawdust? Hear the hum of a sander? That’s Comet. They’re pretty cool.

Comet has been next door for about a year now, but have only recently opened their shop so that you can purchase their stunning, hand-printed boards. Walking through their shop feels more like walking through a gallery than a skate store, but the art is not just for looking. Check out some of their pieces online for just a taste of the beauty that could be carrying you down the street.

To commemorate the occasion, we gave our window a spring makeover in Comet’s signature orange hues, starring one of their handmade longboards! We hope they like it… maybe they’ll make us a board with a crazy vintage floral print?

In addition to the selection on our Etsy site, we also have a collection on the store floor waiting for a wonderful home, and great party!

This year, we decided that we’d like nothing more than to pair patterns with patterns, and bright colors with more patterns. What fun is subtlety when the weather is warm? Here you’ll see some of our favorite new and vintage items from the store, styled by Petrune’s team of fashionistas, and modeled by Julianne Schaeffer at the Ithaca Farmer’s Market.

We love have always loved the adorable Morton Salt Girl. It was so fun to play with this iconic American image in our window display! Hope you like it too .

Here’s some of our favorite looks we found out on the street at SXSW this year. Fashionable ladies abound, as usual at an international music festival, but we were also excited to see so many men with individual refined style! Lookin’ good, guys!

Maxi dresses and skirts were a trend everywhere we looked. We especially like how this gal "toughened up" the flowing look with those combat boots!

Burnt-orange shorts and a vintage hawaiian shirt to match the warm southern air. Surprisingly (and awesomely), florals were quite common at SXSW.

The Aurora Shoe Company, located in lovely scenic Aurora, New York, is a small business that we have always loved. Their line of leather goods are simply the best. All their products use American made materials, and are assembled by hand in their studio in Aurora. These quality hand crafted shoes are not only beautiful, but truly represent the history of fine manufacturing in Upstate New York.
